Analyses of Selection and Performance Measures for CNA Support Personnel,
Abstract:
An investigation was made of the relationships of selection tests and biodata to job performance ratings for 280 current and former CNA support employees in clerical and related jobs. The 3 Short Employment Tests SET were found to be highly reliable measures of verbal, numerical, and clerical aptitudes for CNA support personnel. Although there are 10 items in the CNA Performance Evaluation for Non Exempt Support Personnel, they all relate to a similar extent to a general component describable as supervisory perception of employee performance. The average of these items is a highly reliable measure of this component. For the 15 test, biodata, employment and performance variables investigated, major differences are noted. The sample of 130 current and 150 former employees was divided into 3 job groups. Then the relationships of test scores and biodata to Average Performance Ratings were analyzed. Author
