Structural Properties of Plastics,
Abstract:
The characteristics of deformation and rupture of plastics are dis-cussed, as well as the friction and antifriction properties of the plastics. Peculiarities in characteristics applicable to polymer materials and glass-reinforced plastics are examined. The use of experimental data to estimate the carrying capacities of roller and slide bearings is considered. Plastic behavior under static, dynamic and shock loads, strength under contact load, strength with unilateral heating, physico-mechanical, friction and antifriction properties of polymer bearings and self-lubricating materials are discussed.
