Abstract:

The report is concerned with a new derivation of the q-d algorithm for the inversion of the triangular factors of the Hankel matrix, via the fundamental Laplace identity. This by-passes entirely the continued fraction approach to the problem. Sylvesters identity would bring more insight to the study. Author
