A THERMALLY SCANNED INTERFEROMETRIC MODULATION EFFECT.
Abstract:
A thermally induced optical modulation effect has been observed in Cadmium Sulphide samples subjected to pulsed DC voltages and illuminated by a 6328 A He-Ne laser. It is shown that this phenomenon may be viewed as a scanning interferometric effect, which can be related to the electrical power dissipated in the crystal and the concomitant temperature rise in the material.
