Abstract:

The report contains preliminary results of a reconnaissance conducted during the fall of 1968 along the Makran coastal plain of Iran between Bandar Abbas and the West Pakistan border. These data constitute the initial phase of a project involving the physical geography of a desert coastal environment in a little known segment of the world. The study has two main gals one to describe the Makran coastal region of Iran the other to depict and interpret some of the physical changes that have taken place during the Quaternary Period.
