SKY SURVEY.

Abstract:

Results of a preliminary survey of 2 percent of the sky at a 5 arc minute beam at a wavelength of 5 microns are presented. Photometric observations of stars, infrared stars, infrared nubulae, infrared galaxies, and the planets have been made at effective wavelengths of 5, 10 and 22 microns. These data are summarized in tabulated form with references where necessary. Using the absolute flux calibration of the zero point on each of the three magnitude systems, M 5 microns, N 10 microns and Q 22 microns, it is possible to convert the observed magnitude to absolute fluxes. This body of data serves to describe the appearance of the sky at infrared wavelengths. Author
