Abstract:

The memorandum describes an application of interactive computer graphics to FAST-VAL, a forward air-strike evaluation model. This is the first step towards a completely interactive version of the FAST-VAL system. In particular, the techniques that were developed during the design and implementation of the FAST-VAL Ground Unit Deployment Input System have contributed to a better understanding of the software support required for similar applications. The work described in this Memorandum is directly applicable to computer-based, military modeling or gaming systems that require flexibility, graphic input, display of data, and user interaction.
