Abstract:

The overall goal of the study was the development of an adequate theory for programming algorithmic languages. In order to achieve this goal there were two specific objectives 1 The development of suitable mathematical models of currently used programming languages such as ALGOL, COBOL, and JOVIAL. 2 The use of mathematical models to answer questions of interest about these languages. The document is a final report of the study and contains a listing of technical papers written.
