VACANCY-INTERSTITIAL PAIRS IN QUANTUM CRYSTALS.
Abstract:
A cell model Hamiltonian which describes particles on lattice sites with possible tunneling to surrounding interstitial sites is used to describe quantum crystal phenomena including Frenkel vacancy-interstitial pairs in the ground state, pair wave and Schottky vacancy wave excited states, exchange, and the transition to the superfluid state.
