HEAT-RESISTANT GLUE BASED ON ORGANOELEMENTAL COMPOUNDS,
Abstract:
New VK-10 glue, containing phenol-silicon-organic resin B-1, polyorganoborosiloxane and asbestos, was developed. The glue may be used for gluing heat-resistant metals and nonmetallic materials operating at temperatures up to 1200 degrees C. The bond strength of several materials joined with this glue has been tested at various temperatures. For example, the bond strength of 30KhGSA steel specimens joined with this glue was 130 kgsq cm. at 20C and 7 kgsq cm. at 1200C. The tests showed that water does not affect the strength of glued joints at 425C but decreases it by 10 percent at 20C. Glued joints are not affected by MK-8 mineral oil or by T-1 fuel oil and their service life is six months. To join two pieces together, two layers of the glue are applied to thoroughly degreased surfaces. The glue hardens under a pressure of 8 kgsq cm. at 200C for 3 hr. Author
