THE DESIGN OF AN EXPERIMENTAL GYRATOR,

reportActive / Technical Report | Accession Number: AD0697510 | Need Help?

Abstract:

The purpose of the report is to describe the design of an experimental gyrator circuit built using discrete components and suitable for the simulation of a grounded inductance over the frequency range 100 Hz to 50 kHz. An ungrounded inductance may be simulated by the use of two such identical gyrator circuits or by the use of a gyrator flotation circuit with one gyrator. Maximum Q figures of about 280 are obtained and the circuit has been tested over the temperature range 20C to 50C with good results. Some of the transistors used were germanium because these were readily available but with slight adjustments to biassing points the entire gyrator can be built using silicon devices. In this latter form it should be possible to produce it as an integrated circuit. Author
