WEAR RESISTANCE OF VAPOR-DEPOSITED COATINGS,

Abstract:

Vapor condensates of chromium, in spite of comparatively low microhardness as compared to galvanically deposited chromium, are more wear-resistant. Condensed coatings of Cr-Ni-Fe-Co alloy are 1.5 times more wear-resistant than electroplated coatings. Vapor condensed coatings of chromium and Cr-Ni-Fe-Co alloy, in contrast to electrolytically deposited chromium, can be used to restore parts working in a medium of comparatively great temperature stresses.
