THE IMAGE THEORY QUASI-STATIC MAGNETIC FIELDS OF A FINITE LENGTH HORIZONTAL ELECTRIC ANTENNA LOCATED NEAR THE EARTH'S SURFACE.
Abstract:
Expressions for the quasi-static range magnetic-field components, produced by a finite length horizontal electric antenna located near the earths surface, were derived by employing image theory. The two situations considered were where 1 the source is located at the earths surface and the receiving antenna is elevated z greater than or equal to 0 and 2 the receiving antenna is located at the earths surface, but the height of the source is much less than an earth skin depth. When z and either x or y 0, or when the measurement distance is much greater or much less than the source length or the earth skin depth or both, the expressions reduce to previously derived results.
