Abstract:

A discussion and analysis of the published data on mechanism of oxidative decomposition of polymers supports Semenovs chain-reaction theory Chemical Abstracts 25 5992 with respect to degenerated branching, occurring as inhibition of polymer oxidation reactions. The discussion points to an increased degree of probability of oxidation initiation by anti-oxidants and of a secondary critical concentration of antioxidants. Author
