MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF ALUMINUM ALLOYS AT LOW TEMPERATURES,
Abstract:
The mechanical properties of these alloys at low temperatures have been studied quite fully at the present time. However, there are some areas of omission is estimation of their design strength that is associated with behavior in the presence of stress concentrators, the effect of chemical composition and heat treatment, the scale effect, and also associated with the strength of welds. In this study, the following were envestigated the AK8 alloy of the Al-Cu-Mg system heat treated under two regimes, the V92ts alloy of the Al-Zn-Mg system of varied chemical composition heat treated also under two regimes, the D20 alloy of the Al-Cu-Mn system and its analog grade 2219 with the addition of zircomium and vanadium, and also sintered aluminum powder of grade SAP-1. Also studied were aluminum cast alloys of grades AL4, AL8M, AL27-1, Al19, and ATsMG, prepared in an electric furnace in a 20-30 kg capacity graphite crucible. Author.
