Abstract:

The author discusses salt content in salinized soils and its damage to crops, classification of salinized soils, and salinized soil formation in relation to natural conditions. Most plants cannot absorb water in salt solutions at an osmotic pressure of 6.8 atm. The osmotic pressure in deserts in central Asia has the following ranges 3.29-4.2 atm for lightly salinized soils, 4-6 atm for mildly salinized soils, and 8-15 atm for strongly salinized soils. Salinized soils are classified according to types of salts in soil salt formation characteristics on the ground surface process of soil formation salt migration geographic distribution and soil classification systems.
