Abstract:

The purpose of the study in the surface wave program was to design and construct a buoyant cylindrical float which can accurately respond to wavelength components of the ocean surface down to about 5 ft 1-sec period to provide a rigid, nonmagnetic, waterproof instrument housing for the transducer instrumentation which can readily be inserted and removed from the float under field conditions to design and construct a facility to statistically calibrate each of the surface wave transducers and to participate in field trips and supervise handling and deployment of the float system.
