STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF NFSS PROTECTION CATEGORIES

Abstract:

The National Fallout Shelter Survey NFSS was designed to identify fallout shelter space in all buildings other than single family dwellings. Before February 1967, Phase 1 of the NFSS used a computer program at the National Bureau of Standards NBS to obtain a first estimate of the protection factors in the buildings, and Phase 2 was a follow-up to more completely identify and locate the probable shelter areas in the buildings.
