reportActive / Technical Report | Accession Number: AD0684242 | Need Help?

Abstract:

There exist various hypotheses on the origin of the lunar seas and cirques ring mountain formations. The most convincing view is that the seas and the flat floors of the cirques are made up of lavas, most probably of basic composition. The distribution of these lavas, as regards area and as regards height of surface, has not yet been successfully explained in detail. The report discusses the problem.
