FEASIBILITY STUDY FOR A SPACE ENVIRONMENT SIMULATOR CAPABLE OF DUPLICATING AN ACCURATE SPACE VEHICLE TEMPERATURE HISTORY,
Abstract:
A study of the feasibility of constructing a space environment simulator was made. This facility would supplement the already existing methods for the development of future space vehicles. Means for simulating the low pressures of space and the resultant cold heat sink are discussed, as well as solar, albedo and thermal radiation heat sources, orientation mechanisms, and time and cost estimates.
