HIGH-ENERGY PULSED LIQUID LASER.
Abstract:
The study of high-energy liquid lasers has advanced in all aspects material, physical and device. Improvements have been made in the SeOCl2 host medium, and a new POCl3 host medium has been developed. The properties of the alternating-flow system have been studied, new components developed, and a closed circulating system has been constructed. Outputs of over 32 joules have been achieved in a static system, and preliminary comparisons of POCl3 and SeOCl2 have been made. The Q-switching and mode-locking phenomena have been studied, and a number of new nonlinear effects observed. Author
