SHIELD FOR PROTECTING PASSENGERS AGAINST SIDE EFFECTS OF EXPLOSIVE EXIT IN AIRRCRAFT.
Abstract:
Several protective shields differing in basic configuration, reinforcement, resin system, and method of attachment to the aluminum skin were designed, fabricated, and evaluated. Their purpose was to provide protection against pressures generated and fragments produced as the result of the detonation of a linear-shaped charge installed against the side of an aircraft. One shield has been tested on the Convair 880. Author
