Abstract:

The remodeling of a sequential digital differential analyzer DDA is described which enhances the DDA operating speed and its suitability for studying electromechanical transients in power-supply systems the remodeling requires very few additional devices. A system of algebraic and differential equations is considered which describes the complicated transient processes arising in a power system upon a sudden disturbance with an allowance for generator emf variations. The transient events are subdivided into 4 stages, and the calculating techniques for each stage are suggested the disturbance may be represented by a short-circuit, automatic reclosing, cutting-off a stepped-out generator, etc. The overall speed of the DDA operation rises by 1.2 - 1.9 times depending on the type of problem.
