Abstract:

The report describes research in cation-radical formation, and on the reactions of cation radicals. The following are reported the formation of cation radicals from substituted diphenyl sulfides in sulfuric acid and persulfuric acid the complete esr spectrum of the thianthrene cation radical in aluminum chloride-nitromethane the N-methylphenothiazine cation radical and the reaction of thianthrene with iodine monochloride.
