ON THE SOLUTION OF THREE-DIMENSIONAL HEAT-CONDUCTION PROBLEMS.
Abstract:
A method is described and applied for solving a heat-conduction problem for a body of revolution of arbitrary shape under unsteady heat conditions, the temperature varying in time according to an exponential law, the initial conditions being neglectable. According to this method, the body is assumed to consist of an inhomogeneous anisotropic material the density, specific heat and thermal-conductivity coefficients of the body are such that effective methods of solving two-dimensional problems can be used and a solution to a heat-conduction problem for a body made of almost-homogeneous material can be obtained.
