RIVER AND DELTA MORPHOLOGY.
Abstract:
As part of a series of papers on humid and arid tropical deltas, the report is concerned with processes of river channel, floodplain, and delta development. It is written at the level of the interested layman, rather than specialist in hydraulics and alluvial morphology, and describes characteristics of channel flow, relating them to the deposition of sediments, both in channels and across flood plains, providing information deemed to be useful to persons who navigate channels flowing through alluvium or who seek the most desirable overland routes across low flats subject to overflow from rivers.
