Abstract:

The report contains maps of the ventilation rates required in fallout shelters with forced ventilation systems using unconditioned air. Adequacy curves for 91 locations are presented for effective temperatures of 76 to 90F. Ventilation rates are given for each county of the United States for 82F adjusted effective temperature and 90 adequacy, along with a simplified method for determining these ventilation rates.
