ANALYSIS OF A 'SEISMIC FENCE' FOR INTRUSION DETECTION (EXPERIMENTAL AND THEORETICAL RESULTS).
Abstract:
The report describes experiments with an active seismic system for detecting the approach of personnel and vehicles and presents in detail a mathematical model for the seismic phenomena involved. In the experiments, a seismic fence was set up between a seismic transmitter and a seismic detector located about 100 feet apart. A person walking between the two units is detected as a disturbance in the delicately balanced seismic loop. Data from field tests verify the validity of the mathematical model described. Author
