EVALUATION OF A WET SUIT IN CONJUNCTION WITH ANTI-BLACKOUT PROTECTION,

An investigation was undertaken to test and evaluate a wet suit worn in conjunction with the Mark II anti-G suit under acceleration. Eight subjects were run on the centrifuge under conditions of no protection, wearing an anti-G suit only, wearing an anti-G suit under the wet suit, and wearing the anti-G suit over the wet suit. Results indicated that acceleration tolerance was significantly improved by the use of the anti-G suit, but there was no statistically reliable difference between the anti-G suit only and the two anti-G suitwet suit combinations.
