THE RAYLEIGH ARCHIVES DEDICATION
Abstract:
On 30 March 1966 a ceremony was held at the Research Library of the Air Force Cambridge Research Laboratories, Bedford, Massachusetts, to dedicate the Rayleigh Archives a collection of the notebooks, manuscripts, working papers, and correspondence of the Lords Rayleigh John William Strutt, the third Baron Rayleigh, and Robert John Strutt, the fourth Baron Rayleigh. The ceremony was attended by a distinguished group from both the military and the scientific community whose research interests relate to the two Rayleighs. The report is a transcript of the discussions of Rayleigh Day, with only a minimum of editing to correct minor errors that occurred in impromptu remarks.
