Abstract:

The Academy of Sciences Scientific Council for multi-disciplinary studies of the terrestrial crust and upper mantle held, on June 13-20, its scheduled Field Session visit to Irkutsk, devoted to the problem of research on the Baikal rift zone. Participating in the work of the Session were more than 160 delegates representing establishments of the Academy, the Ministries of Geology of the USSR and the RSFSR, and the Ministry of Higher and Intermediate Specialized Education of the RSFSR. Various papers given at this Session are discussed.
