THE ILLUMINATION OF SPECTROGRAPHS OF LENTICULAR SCREENS,
Abstract:
The image of the lightsource in quantitative spectral analysis is usually projected into the optical system with a lens in front of the slit. The intensity ratio in the spectrum may not be presented correctly if part of the image of the light source is lost in the set of prisms due to vignetting or by absorption and glare. Lenticular screens are used in a special illumination design. This way a multiple image of the light source will be produced and the optical system of the spectrograph will be illuminated uniformly and reproducibly. Author
