Abstract:

Several aspects of the mechanism of photophosphorylation were investigated. The approaches included structural degradation determination of the path of the phosphate-oxygen the relation of light induced ATPase-reactions to photophosphorylation the localization of the site of ATP formation studied with low-potential dyes new inhibitors and uncouplers and their site of action the isolation of a new enzyme, ADP-ribose phosphorylase from Euglena, and review of work in the field.
