Abstract:

A laboratory model electric field meter has been designed and constructed to determine the feasibility of measuring small variations in the earths electric field. As a result of the tests performed with this instrument, a larger field meter of similar design but with increased sensitivity has been placed in operation. This meter will detect changes in the earths electric field of 78 millivolts meter. A theoretical investigation of the response of the earths electric field to a distant electrical impulse has been performed. Author
