A HIGH VOLTAGE PULSE GENERATOR USING SWITCHED THYRATRONS,

reportActive / Technical Report | Accession Number: AD0622121 | Need Help?

Abstract:

The design of a high voltage pulse generator using hydrogen thyratrons in an on-off switching cycle is described. This design seeks to combine the advantages of line type and hard valve generators by providing an output pulse which can be continuously varied in duration with a low output resistance. The generator described produces well shaped rectangular pulses up to 4kV in magnitude continuously variable in length from 0.2 microsec with a source resistance of approximately 13 ohms. The design can be readily extended to provide output voltages to a maximum of 16kV. Author
