THE LATITUDE BOUNDARIES OF JUPITER'S BANDS,

reportActive / Technical Report | Accession Number: AD0621854 | Need Help?

Abstract:

The latitudinal bands of Jupiter are discussed as phenomena reflecting, in Jupiters atmosphere, the particular tectonics of the planet. Physical relationships are established connecting the latitudes of the bands, the active formations, and the critical parallels --- a relationship which can only arise in the solid core of the planet through variation of the potential of deforming forces. The author comes to the conclusion that a volcanism is, perhaps, produced by changes in the rotational regime of the planet. Author
