Abstract:

A comparison of various army force postures was studied in order 1 to estimate changes in cost and effectiveness as the support given to combat divisions was varied 2 to develop air and sealift requirements for a variety of forces with different combinations of peacetime locations of men and equipment both in the United States and overseas and 3 to develop a way to relate logistics support-particularly supply requirements for petroleum products and conventional ammunition--to combat activity.
