A STUDY OF DIABATIC HEATING EFFECTS ON THE DEVELOPMENT OF PRESSURE WAVES.
Abstract:
A baroclinic model programmed for numerical solution is used to investigate the effects of diabatic heating on the development of pressure waves for periods up to 24 hours. Several forms of the model are studied with results being obtained for various wavelengths. The results lead to some meteorological improbabilities however, the relative development of the pressure wave appears valid for short time periods. Author
