Abstract:

Bulova is manufacturing the CR-47AU crystal units at 200,000 KC, 350,000 KC, and 500,000 KC. With respect to the CR-XM-60U crystal units, Bulova has received Kold Weld Sealing equipment and is actively engaged in the procurement of Kold Weld bases and cans. Lead attachments by Ultrasonic Weld method rather than Thermo Compression Method will be pursued because of its adaptability to mass production. The above two study phases are considered the most important phases to increase the reliability of the CR-47AU crystal units. Partial results have been determined in the lapping of crystal loaves.
