Abstract:

The study discusses the merits of three types of spherical domes. A design procedure which generally applies to all types is given in step by step form for one type of spherical dome. Mathematical expressions are given without detailed derivation but with reference to sketches from which the derivations can be developed. Throughout the discussion it is assumed that the reader is acquainted with simple structural design procedures. Author
