Abstract:

A formal method of inversion of the baroclinic Omega-equation of the quasigeostrophic models is proposed. An application to satellite meteorology is suggested, where a 500 millibar surface is obtained in regions of sparse data from a knowledge of the surface map and the vertical motion field. Author
