Abstract:

The loss of two tubes by failure of a reservoir heater led to a new reservoir assembly which is an improvement over the previous one. The cooling provisions for the grids are adequate for rated conditions but are marginal at the test conditions. Operation 2 life test was passed successfully. Vertical spacing greater than desirable did not cause grid firing characteristics to go beyond specification limits. Author
