AN AIMING POINT COMPARISON STUDY.
Abstract:
The differential effects of three aiming points were studied for the purpose of facilitating the task of zeroing the M1 rifle. No significant differences were found among these aiming points. It is assumed that if any large real differences do exist between these aiming points, this experiment would have revealed them even though the number of subjects employed was small. Since these results were obtained with firers who had previous firing experience, no inference can be made concerning these aiming points as an aid to zeroing the rifle for the inexperienced firer basic trainee.
