OBSERVATIONS ON BETA-PROPIOLACTONE VAPOR DECONTAMINATION

reportActive / Technical Report | Accession Number: AD0485852 | Open PDF

Abstract:

Although beta-propiolactone BPL is an effective vapor-phase decontaminant for enclosed areas, some problems have been encountered in its use. Adequate air circulation during BPL dissemination could eliminate most of these troubles. It is recommended that when decontaminating the ordinary buildings or laboratory the spray amount of BPL be changed from the initially suggested one gallon per 16,000 cubic feet of space to one gallon per 25,000 cubic feet. The use of aqueous BPL solutions and thermal-type generators is not recommended.
