HIGH POWER MICROWAVE COMPONENTS IN OVERSIZED WAVEGUIDE.
Abstract:
The purpose of this investigation is to develop components for oversized waveguide configurations for which aLambda and bLambda are in the range of 1.5 - 2.25 for the TE10 mode in rectangular and where DLambda is at least 1.7 for the TE01 mode in circular waveguide. The components considered shall include E- and H-plane bends, mode absorbers, 3 db directional couplers, pressure windows, resonant rings and rotary joints. Where necessary, the theoretical and computer studies shall be verified before design data is finalized. These components may be developed through whatever design concepts are necessary to assure high peak and high average power. The present report presents theoretical and experimental results for multi-hole diffraction couplers, mode absorbers, and mica pressure windows for oversized rectangular waveguide. Author
