THERMAL STRESS ANALYSIS OF PRESSURE VESSELS WITH CYLINDRICAL SKIRT SUPPORTS.
Abstract:
A method is described for determination of stresses near the circumferential junction of shell, head, and skirt of a pressure vessel subjected to mechanical and thermal loadings. Considerable latitude is permitted for variation in geometrical, mechanical, and loading characteristics however, it is presumed that there is complete symmetry about the axis of the vessel.
