ELASTOMERIC SEALS AND MATERIALS AT CRYOGENIC TEMPERATURES.
Abstract:
This research deals with low temperature investigations of elastomeric polymers, with particular emphasis on their use as seals at cryogenic temperatures. The present report covers a few seal tests with commercially available liquid rubber sealants, and some modifications of a previously developed ball rebound resilience measuring and recording apparatus. The ball rebound apparatus is now capable of measuring and recording the residence time of the ball on the sample as well as the rebound energy. The residence time can be related to the frequency of the impressed oscillation. Author
