KAPTON POLYIMIDE FILM. A THIN WALL HIGH-TEMPERATURE INSULATION FOR WIRE AND CABLE,
Abstract:
This paper compares the performance of wire insulated with an aromatic polyimide film, Type HF, with a number of other popular well known high-temperature insulations. The aromatic polyimide film Type HF, at a wall thickness of only 0.0072 in., showed outstanding performance in properties such as heat aging, cut-through resistance, abrasion resistance, nonflammability, radiation resistance and outgassing. Because of its high level of performance and the opportunity to save space and weight HF film has found enthusiastic acceptance in many wire and cable applications. Author
