Abstract:

During the period April through June 1963 the research program supported under Contract NObsr 89464 continued to consist wholly of analysis of data and preparation of scientific papers at Woods Hole, except for contributions which virtually all members of the Geophysics Depart ment made to the THRESHER search. Research results of this quarter have been the high degree of correlation between sediment types and bottom reflectivity and the identification of long obscure relations between sounds often recorded in the deep sea and various species of cetaceans.
