Abstract:

A three port ferrite circulator was developed that is capable of handling 500 KW peak power, 3500 watts average power over the band 400 to 450 mc. Preliminary results have been obtained on a 200 to 225 mc circulator. A solid state diode limiter has been designed and tested for the 400 to 450 mc band. This limiter, mounted behind a ferrite circulator, is capable of protecting the receiver when 300 kw peak power and 3 kw of average power from the transmitter is subjected to a 2 to 1 antenna mismatch. For the 200 to 225 mc band a complete solid state diode limiter has been achieved that can successfully switch 200 kw peak power, 2 kw average power with a 60 microsecond pulse width. Author
